Graded Comic Value Update
I don't think the values are correct for graded comics, when you check the comic as graded it should improve the value of the comic. It would be good to get values based on average sales prices of graded comics to get a better estimate for you collection.

Just an FYI we have added our CGC Analyzer tool. So eventually with some more data if you check that it is certified, we would be able to use the latest certified value for calculations.

Unfortunately the issue here is that the market is setting the price for the graded comics - if the market is willing to shell out $600 for a cgc graded xmen 266, then that is the going price for that cgc book, even though the actual price should be the market price of the non-cgc book plus the cost of grading it.
I would still like to know what the "price" for this cgc book is, even though it may be irrational that people are paying that much for it.

Grading is important , it gives a a reliable grade that to a point is accepted as industry norm.
I am all for graded comics do the research on the grader
This can allow commerce. A raw comics is a disputable grade to advantage of seller or buyer, certified reduces that with a few minor exceptions. The premium is the " Trust Factor" we now have. I goes for comics cards signature items (coa) even gemstones Industries need a standard and that will increase intrinsic value , see the iso standards many companies use and will only deal with other iso certified companies -

Graded comics should not have any real increase in value other than the cost of grading. We as consumers are paying more on our own. I can see higher grades commanding a bit more but not in general.

I would like to see some valuation for certified signed comics. I agree with Joesph, many think simply certifying exponentially increases value.... just look at uncanny x-men #266 on eBay in some cases going for 600$ above value just for grading? not even signed..... I am certifying many of my collection, but opting for PGX instead.... But either way.... certifying simply solidifies the grade, not an increase in price... I suppose as long as there are people blindly buying something just because it is certified regardless of price..... this will continue to happen.

I'm sorry, I actually don't exactly agree with this suggestion. I did make a similar suggestion, but mine is about signed and certified comics; CGC comics were mentioned in there, but not exactly what I was getting at, as I and others agree that grading a comic does not increase the value, rather guarantees, or certifies the grade of the comic. There is already an option to select the grade of an issue, and prices reflect that grade. just because someone spends $12 - $20 to get a comic graded & slabbed, it doesn't increase a comic's value. The higher prices charged for CGC comics, is simply paying the cost that was incurred to get this service done, and it's up to a buyer whether they want to pay extra for the convenience of it having been done, our not. Unfortunately, a lot of people think they can then charge $50 - $200, or more for having had this $12 - $20 service done, and that's unfortunate. All in all, a $2 issue that's been CGC'd, is still worth $2. Just because it will likely stay in that condition longer, and have a better chance of not lowering grade due to being slabbed, doesn't mean it's worth more money.
