'bulk upload' your entire collection via a text file, preferably by barcode
The ability to upload your entire collection at once, by uploading a text file containing all the barcodes of your comics to the website, instead of having to have to search for all of your comics titles through the web ui and adding them manually one by one.

Again, I would love to provide it but I am not sure how helpful it would be. I don't think it would ever be automatic, but about the best that could happen is that it would auto search for you. So if you entered ASM 17 the system would try to identify all possible matches and let you choose from them. Then you could enter the data you need to (i.e. condition, grade, pile location, etc). The tool would then save your book, remove it from your import list, and then show you the next item.
But even if it was a 100% match we couldn't auto add it to the collection and you would have to manually add each and every one.

love to see this feature. if it doesn't find barcodes, i'm willing to enter those manually. i keep sitting down to enter all of the comics i own but it seems tedious to start and i give up. if i could export them to the site it would be a great starting point and i'd be more willing to donate to the cause.

I agree that if it could be done, mass upload via csv file would be helpful.
But thanks for the site that you've already provided Dough Boy. I LOVE COMICBOOKREALM.COM!!!!!

Unfortunatly Diamond charges around $5k for that software...and I don't think many of us are willing to shell that out.

I have to agree that unless most of the comics in your database include the barcode, a tool to bulk import by barcode would be of little help. For getting nearly all barcodes of *American* comics and trade paperbacks, at least, you could consider a partnership with Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. (or in short: Diamond). They are the largest comic book distributor serving North America, and are known to have similar partnerships with other comic book collector software vendors.

Currently we have some version of a barcode for only 22% of the database. A tool like this could be built, but it could mean that it only imports some of your collection leaving you to enter the rest (even might miss some in a run, etc).
