Fixing the Character database?
I wrote my own Comics DB(very time consuming) but the character implementation worked like this "Jordan, Hal(Green Lantern/Parallax/Yellow Lantern) [Earth-1]". or "Kent, Clark/Kal-El(Superman/Gangbuster) <Krypton> [Earth-1]", this method prevents duplications, and also means that when a character takes on a new name, you just update their index, could we see that here?

I'd be happy even if we did it similar to the way ComicVine has it

I like that format, it certainly saves cross contamination.

Sounds like a good deal of work. Also, standardizing the character listing sounds like something that could greatly enhance search's and general information research/enjoyment. Sounds like a good idea to deal with nice search options, but I am also cool with what I have.

My favorite thing to do on ComicBookRealm is to insert character appearances. I am, however, one of those people that likes to put profiles up for each persona because I like seeing which particular issues that that particular person used that persona.
So for Hal Jordan we have:
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Parallax (Hal Jordan)
The Spectre II (Hal Jordan)
Yellow Lantern (Hal Jordan)An idea to bridge both ideas would be to somehow link all of these character profiles to the same profile/bio page.

I guess. I have noticed people putting this information in the "real name" field. Maybe we should standardize how characters should be listed, and then figure out if we need to add a separate field.
